Good style but questionable sizing

Brought this pair of shoes for my husband. Liked that they were slip on so that he could wear them around the house, work in the yard or out to the mailbox, etc. He had worn size 15 4E lace up New Balance & Dunham sandals for more than 20 years. This pair of slip on boat shoes in 15 x-wide was enormous with more than an inch gap at the back of the heel. No way this pair would work. Not sure if it's the style or sizing that caused the problem. Must add that customer service was outstanding about returns.
