20 Years Fitting Big Feet
It's hard to believe, but it was 20 years ago today, April 15, 2000, that we launched 2BigFeet.com. We saw first-hand how hard it was to find shoes in large sizes at department stores and malls, so we quit our jobs, found manufacturers that made big shoes, and the rest is history.
Twenty years later, we have shipped big shoes to every corner of the globe to hundreds of thousands of big-footed guys. We have partnered with brands to extend their sizes to fit our customers. We have even started manufacturing our own brands of shoes and accessories. Thank you.We wouldn't still be here without the support of our customers, family, and friends.
The past twenty years have flown by with lots of highs (and a few lows), so we thought this would be an apt time to create a highlights reel...
December 1999 - Brandon Eley and Neil Moncrief registered 2BigFeet.com and started raising money from friends, family, and a small SBA startup loan to rent a warehouse and buy some inventory.
April 2000 - 2BigFeet.com launched without much fanfare. In fact, it took several days to receive our first order! We were still figuring out how online marketing worked (this was the age of AltaVista and banner ads).
January 2007 - Brandon bought out his partner Neil and Brandon's wife Tracy joined 2BigFeet as an owner to manage operations.
Fun Fact - In our 20 years in business, 2BigFeet has moved quite a few times. We have operated out of 9 different locations!
December 2017 - 2BigFeet acquired BigFootwear, a third-generation family-owned specialty footwear retailer that has been online since 1997.
April 2019 - 2BigFeet launched our own brand of BIG insoles, available in maximum support and memory foam up to size 19.
2020 and the Future - We are working on our own line of BIG shoes for men, and are still working with manufacturers to bring you even more of the shoes you want in the sizes you need.
To top it all off, our trademark for our very first slogan was just approved by the USPTO. We think it's fitting that it was approved exactly 20 years after it was first used on our website (in our original logo). For a trip down memory lane, check out our very first website below.
